Kent State (2-4, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) fell to twenty-fourth-ranked Toledo (5-0, 2-4 MAC) in its first conference road game, 38-7.

After starting the game on the positive end, with a fumble returned by sophomore linebacker Ryan Seibert that caused a 7-0 lead, the Flashes gave up 38 unanswered points; including a 17-point second quarter.

Offensively, the Flashes were held to 257 total yards and, for the second time this season, had to rely on the defense to get into the end zone.

With this loss, Kent State has now lost eight consecutive games on the road.

Sophomore running back Terry Swanson had a dominant game for the Rockets, running for 161 yards on 14 carries. Senior quarterback Philip Ely added 205 passing yards and two touchdowns on the day.

Freshmen quarterback George Bollas led the Flashes going 10-for-21 with 77 yards in the second half.

Kent State travels to Amherst next Saturday to take on the University of Massachusetts. Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m.
