The Kent Police Department identified the victim of Saturday morning’s downtown shooting as Reco Clinkscales Jr., 24, of Cleve- land, who sustained a gunshot wound and is still being treated for his injuries.

Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots outside 176 E. Main St. around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. As Kent Police arrived, one witness reported seeing a car speeding away form the scene. Kent State students were notified through FlashALERT around 2:15 a.m.

According to the new police report released Thursday, Clinkscales was shot near the intersection of East Main Street and Depeyster Street after “some type of altercation.”

A few shots fired went into 176 E. Main St., which is the Buffalo Wild Wings Bar & Grill, accord- ing to further investigation with the assistance of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Kent Fire Department took Clinkscales to a local hospital.

Clinkscales’ name and infor- mation wasn’t released immedi- ately so the victim’s family could be notified first, Kent Police Lt. Michael Lewis said.

The incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made. There are no con- firmed suspects.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Kent Police Department at (330) 673-7732.
