Kent State University Dining Services will host the ninth annual Taste of Kent State on Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the Student Green.

Students who are feeling overwhelmed with all of the dining options on campus can sample foods from more than 20 on-campus dining locations for free. Kent State’s two new eateries, Wow Bao and Wholly Habaneros, will both be featured at this year’s event.

“Each new eatery will receive 50 feet of space for samples for our 100 foot specialty (display). All items available to sample will be menu items,” Rita Mugford, manager of Dining Services, said.

Allergy-friendly options will be offered, along with access to Kent State’s on-campus nutritionist.

Dining locations to be represented at Taste of Kent State include Quaker Steak & Lube, Auntie Anne’s, Eastway Café, Sushi with Gusto, Slice Pizza and Fork in The Road Food Truck. Other vendors include PepsiCo Inc., Hershey and General Mills.

“Taste of Kent State is an opportunity for everyone on and near campus to experience the culinary expertise and diversity we offer. It’s a pleasure to show-off our favorite foods,” Richard Roldan, Director of Dining, said in a press release.

The event is weather permitting. In the case of rain, the event will be held on the same date and time on the second floor of the Student Center.
