Kent State sends four track and field athletes to compete in the 2015 USATF Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The competition will be held at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon from Thursday through Sunday.

Matthias Tayala, William Barnes, Reggie Jagers and Sam Tollerud will represent the Flashes in the competition. Tayala will compete in the hammer throw competition on Thursday, coming off a second-place NCAA finish earlier this month. Jagers will also compete in the discuss throw on Thursday.

Barnes will compete in the 110m hurdles Saturday afternoon and look to advance to Sunday’s finals, and Tollerud will also compete in pole vault that evening.

The athletes are competing to earn spots on the 2015 IAAF World Championships team that will compete August 22-30 in Beijing, China. Other teams they can qualify for include the Pan Am Games, Thorpe Cup, Pan Am Juniors and NACAC Championship squads.
