Brewhouse

Brewhouse brings in the most fun under 21 with its $5 cover charge for those underage.

With a DJ, pool tables and room to dance, the bar gives a taste of college nightlife to those who can’t get into the other bars quite yet as it is the only bar in Kent to do so.

There’s something for everyone to do at Brewhouse: Arcade games, giveaways and even live comedians make it a popular spot among those under 21, or over.

“I loved that it welcomed all of my friends; everyone just felt included, and it gave us a chance to hang out with our older friends,” junior advertising major Bridget Wilhelm said. “And, you can’t forget about the popcorn.”

Firefly

Firefly gives students a chance to hang out in a relaxing environment and smoke hookah with friends in lounge chairs.

Servers offer you a menu where you can choose from more than 30 flavors of smoke and even order tea or special drinks, like Rockstar Energy Drinks, to sip on through the night. Firefly is also the only hookah bar in Kent, making it an obvious spot for underage groups who enjoy smoking.

“I went there for the first time the other day, and it was nice,” said Samantha Choi, a freshman fashion merchandising major. “It was really chill, with nice music and a nice atmosphere. It’s a good place to go, especially if you’re not 21.”

Ray’s Place

Ray’s Place brings in an abundant 21 and over crowd but also is iconic for its food and atmosphere, making it on the list for being “fun under 21.” Students can go enjoy a meal with friends or family, watch a sports game on their TVs or chill out and play pool in the back.
