The cast of “My Heart is the Drum” rehearses in E. Turner Stump Theatre on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015. My Heart is the Drum tells the story of Efua Kuti, a young woman who flees her village in Ghana after her impending arranged marriage threatens her lifelong dream of a college education. Guided by her grandmother’s spirit, Efua confronts life-threatening dangers and subsequently discovers her true strength. The production will run on weekends starting Feb. 20 and run until March 1.
