As winter weather approaches, the City of Kent will require residents’ yards and sidewalks to be maintained. But for residents who don’t have access to proper maintenance tools, the city has a way to help through its tool rental program.

The tools are free to rent all year long by visiting the Department of Community Development. However, city officials suggest residents call ahead to make sure the tools needed are available.

Available tools include shovels, snow blowers, rakes and other summer yard equipment. A valid government ID will allow residents to check out the devices for an allotted amount of time. The city will assess late fees if equipment is not returned in a timely manner.
