Apple distributes invites for September 9th event

Apple sent out invitations Thursday morning to an event Sept. 9.

Apple has previously hosted events in September to launch new products, and many speculate that the company will unveil the iPhone 6 at this gathering. Technology news side Re/code reported Sunday that Apple will also debut a smart watch at the event.

But famously tight-lipped Apple refused to reveal what it had in store.

“Wish we could say more,” the invitation reads.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, Calif. Earlier this year, Apple celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Mac computer at the same facility.

Tech aficionados have been saving the date since the start of this month, when word surfaced that Apple had something in store for Sept. 9.

With the latest iterations of the iPhone, Apple is widely expected to unveil devices with displays of 4.7 and 5.5 inches, after long resisting the move to larger screen sizes.
