KSU’s Nix named MAC East defensive player of the week

Kent State senior defensive tackle Roosevelt Nix was named Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday following his performance in which he recorded three tackles for loss, two sacks, four solo tackles and one forced fumble at Akron this past Saturday.

The two sacks moved him into second place among the Flashes’ career sack leaders with 23.5. The forced fumble set up Kent State’s only touchdown drive of the afternoon, a 42-yard jaunt that ended in a 3-yard touchdown run by Trayion Durham in the second quarter.

Nix also raised his career tackle for loss total to 62.5 and his forced fumble total to 11.
