A second-round game in the Mid-American Conference baseball tournament between Kent State and the Ball State Cardinals was postponed Thursday due to inclement weather and rescheduled for Friday morning.

The conference announced the postponements of the Kent State game and two other scheduled games on its official website and released an updated scheduled for the remainder of the tournament. The game between the Central Michigan Chippewas and the Miami Redhawks, postponed during the sixth inning, will resume at 9 a.m. Friday, and the Kent State-Ball State game is scheduled to start approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the 9 a.m. game.

The Flashes were originally scheduled to play at 4 p.m. Thursday, but a rain delay during the Central Michigan-Miami game brought the action to a stop and pushed the start time back.

Rain continued to fall from the middle of the afternoon through 7 p.m., and officials made the decision to suspend play for the rest of the day after it became apparent the weather was not going to allow the games to be played.

Kent State could play another game Friday if the team were to lose to the Cardinals. If the Flashes lose, they will compete against the winner of the Chippewas-Redhawks game once all of the second-round games have been completed.
