Kent State (14-16, 6-3 Mid-American Conference) and Toledo (12-18, 4-5 MAC) never got out of the first inning after rain and lightning caused about a two hour rain delay before the umpiring crew postponed the game Wednesday at Schoonover Stadium.

Flashes’ pitcher Nick Jensen-Clagg (2-2, 5.32) tossed a 1-2-3 inning in the first inning before the rain started to fall.

The two teams will announce a make-up game in the coming weeks.

The Flashes will now turn their attention to a weekend series at Miami starting at 6 p.m. Friday in Oxford, Ohio.
