Students need FLASHcards for FlashFest

Unlike shows in the past, students must present their FLASHcards to attend FlashFest 2013.

Elizabeth Holton, director of programming for Undergraduate Student Government, said the new rule was created to benefit students.

“Each year we have FlashFest as a free concert for Kent State students,” Holton said. “[Presenting] the I.D is to make sure that Kent State students get the opportunity to see this show before any outside guests.”

Non-KSU students are required to purchase tickets for $20 at the M.A.C. Center.

In previous years, people from other schools attended FlashFest for free. Holton, her administration, the USG programming board and Kent police decided on the rule.

Local artists will perform from noon to 5 p.m. on the student green. At 6 p.m., the main show will occur in the M.A.C. Center. Kendrick Lamar, Steve Aoki, Bad Rabbits and 5 & A Dime will perform.
