Pixar animator, Kent graduate to speak Thursday

Students will be able to learn what it takes to be an animator for Pixar first-hand from a Kent State graduate Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in room 114 of Van Deusen Hall.Michael Cacciamani, who graduated from the computer design, animation, and game design program in 2008, has been working for Pixar Canada since Fall 2010 and has worked on several of their shorts. His most recent work can bee seen in “Partysaurus Rex,” a Toy Story short that was seen in Finding Nemo 3D.The event is open to all, but students are asked to arrive early because seats will fill up quickly.This presentation will focus on 3D lighting and demo reels, but Cacciamani will also speak Friday about the Pixar community at 6 p.m. in room 133 of Bowman Hall.
