Kent State University’s College of Public Health will be hosting the 71st annual Human Services Institute March 25.

The event will take place in the Kiva from 10 a.m. to noon.

This year’s keynote speaker is Barbara Edwards, director of the Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid. Edwards is nationally recognized for her expertise in Medicaid policy. She will be speaking on “Health Reform: Opportunities, Challenges and Uncertainties.”

“The Human Services Institute is the region’s premier event when it comes to health and human services symposiums,” said Ken Slenkovich, assistant dean for the College of Public Health. “The featured speakers are always at the cutting edge of today’s issues.”

Following the keynote speaker will be four other panelists presenting on similar topics.
