The Kent State University Downtown Gallery will host an opening reception Thursday evening in honor of artist Paul O’Keeffe’s “Recent Work” exhibition.

According to a press release, O’Keeffe “has had numerous solo and group exhibitions both in the United States and abroad, including exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Dublin.”

O’Keeffe, professor of arts, is featuring his work for student artists to receive inspiration. Hannah Smith, sophomore galleries assistant, will work the reception. Smith said the Downtown Gallery offers Kent State artists and interested students a chance to benefit from the work of faculty members and professional artists.

“Students get to experience the faculty in action and see how these artists display their passion,” Smith said. “It’s very motivating to students.”

The reception will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday. The Downtown Gallery will also host O’Keeffe’s work from Feb. 13 through March 9 for any interested students, faculty and residents.
