Kent State honors veterans with “Salute to Service”

Kent State’s annual Veterans Day observance event will take place at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 on Risman Plaza. This year’s theme is “A Salute to Service.”

Lt. Col. David Krempasky is emceeing the event. This will be his third Veterans Day ceremony at Kent State.?

Krempasky said the ceremony will feature speakers President Lester Lefton and Eric Mansfield, executive director of University Media Relations.

Mansfield, a retired major with the Ohio Army National Guard, will give the opening remarks, followed by a flag-raising ceremony by the Army and Air Force ROTC joint color guard.

Krempasky said students, faculty and the Kent community are all welcome to the event, which will conclude with a reception in the Kiva lobby.
