Kent experiences power outages

About 7,500 costumers were without power tonight, according to Kirk Gardner, external affairs manager for Summit County FirstEnergy.

Gardner said that the power began going out around the Kent and Ravenna area at 10:23 p.m. All power had been restored by 12:04 a.m. Monday.

The Brady substation also lost power, Gardner said, and they are still investigating what caused the outages.

Almost 4,000 Kent customers were without power as of 11 p.m. Sunday, according to FirstEnergy’s website.

Several hundred customers in Ravenna, Stow and Brimfield also lost power.

Kent Police said they do not know the source of the outages, but they are investigating.
