The Portage County Tea Party group gathered at the Rusty Nail Banquet Hall Tuesday night to discuss the group’s role in the upcoming election and to meet tea party endorsed candidates.

The meeting defined the tea party’s goals for smaller government, lower taxes and less government interference. Executive director Tom Zawistowski and the candidates encouraged the 30 Portage County citizens to get actively involved in the campaigns for November’s election.
