Last week the Kent State Police Department updated its website to include a daily crime log and fire log.

The crime log will record “criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that are reported to the police,” according to the website. The log will represent a 60-day period and will be updated daily.

The crime log will show students when and where the incident occurred, what the offense was and whether the fire ws intentional or accidental.

The fire log will record actual fires that occur on campus and will also represent a 60-day period.

Michquel Penn, community resource officer for the Kent State Police, said the purpose of putting it on the website is to keep students more informed. She said the police website will be experiencing more changes and updates soon.
