Seniors gathered Friday to sample wine and learn proper etiquette at the second annual Graduate to Wine event.

The Alumni Association created the event last year to help seniors learn proper wine etiquette to prepare them for professional events, said Carrie Circosta, assistant director of student and recent graduate programs.

“We decided to create the event in order to give seniors experience and knowledge of wine,” Circosta said. “This event also helps seniors develop relationships with the Alumni Association.”

The event was a great way to learn about drinking wine, said Chelsea Morgan, senior public health major.

“I enjoyed getting to know the proper wine etiquette,” Morgan said. “I learned a lot from the instructor.”

The alumni association provided transportation, snacks and a short wine lecture to 50 seniors at the Viking Vineyards and Winery.

Olivia Waters, senior exploratory major, said the event was a great value

“The cheese alone probably cost five dollars,” Waters said, “and that’s what we paid for the whole night.”
