Photo story: Scrapbook family

Hardships come in due time for most young adults, when they are ready to leave their homes and families and take charge of their own lives. If a family bond is broken, and the relationship ends at an early age, one must learn to live independently abnormally quickly. For the members of this home in Kent, Ohio, a home of 11 abandoned young adults came together to form a small community.

Each has been excommunicated from their families and their homes, and forced to survive on their own. Mature hardships present themselves earlier than most, while leadership and hierarchy are naturally created. Interactions between the young adults are complex, and each member, having his or her own stories to tell, permanently leaves their own mark in this scrap book family.
