House fire reported on Cherry Street

No injuries were reported by fire and police officials after a fire damaged a house on Cherry Street in Kent.

One of the house’s occupants was not home during the fire. The other escaped unharmed and was taken to a shelter, according to witnesses.

The fire was reported at approximately 10:40 p.m. Monday. Emergency fire units from Kent, Rootstown, Ravenna and Streetsboro responded. The fire was extinguished by around 11:15 p.m. Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
