A student was struck by a vehicle while crossing East Main Street on Thursday.

Melani Boncha, junior Teaching English as a Second Language major, said she was crossing the street from Papa Johns to Starbucks when she felt the impact.

“I hit the ground pretty hard,” she said.

Paramedics were called, but they did not transport Boncha to the hospital. No injuries were reported.

Chelsea Masselli, senior Fashion Merchandising major, was sitting in Starbucks when it happened

Masselli said she didn’t see the car hit, but she “heard someone gasp” and looked out.

“She just kept walking,” Masselli said. “It was weird.”
