San Diego Comic-Con 2011 impresses fans

Andrew Paulsen

San Diego is more than 2,400 miles away from Kent, but that didn’t stop Andrew Paulsen, a senior electronic media major, from witnessing America’s largest convention for comic books, animation, manga, trading card games and blockbuster superhero movies.

For the past two years, Kent State senior Andrew Paulsen has flown out to California for the San Diego Comic-Con International. Last year’s convention attracted over 125,000 attendees and this year’s attendance is expected to surpass 130,000 people.

This week, Andrew returns to the Con and sends photos to us at KentWired.com to share his 2011 experience with fellow Kent State students and the Kent community. While he won’t be dressing up as Batman or a Stormtrooper, he will be getting plenty of shots of superhero, sci-fi and anime fans masquerading as their favorite characters. Plus, Andrew will photograph celebrities attending the event, so be sure to check in daily from Thursday to Sunday to witness the awesomeness (and madness!) that is Comic-Con.
