Kent Art Collective puts on event downtown

Have another night of fun, dancing and drinking downtown from 6 p.m. to close Friday at Mugs Brew Pub with Kent Art Collective.

?Kent Art Collective is a mixed group of architecture, theater and fashion students who want their work shown to the public.

?The $3 admission proceeds will go toward the group’s fashion and art exhibit, “Delineation,” May 5. The show will feature different mixed talents. “Everyone has their own inspiration for their own collection,” said Bethany Clark, senior fashion design major and member of Kent Art Collective. “But we’re united as one group.”

For the annual senior fashion portfolio show, two classes put together the theme, so not many students got a say in what they want, said Shanetta Dorsey, senior fashion design major and member of Kent Art Collective.

“We didn’t feel like we were directly involved,” Dorsey said. “So that’s why we’re doing our own thing.”

It’s not about school. It’s about showing everyone’s stuff, Clark said.
