Kent State falls to Drexel in BracketBuster game, 73-66

Kent State ended the game recording a 35.9 shooting percentage from the field, while shooting 22.2 percent from the 3-point line.

Even with the shooting struggles, Kent State managed to post five players with double-digit point values: Greene (11), junior guard Michael Porrini (12), sophomore guard Randal Holt (10), junior guard Carlton Guyton (17).

Leading the Dragons offensive effort was forward Samme Givens, who finished with a double-double. Givens posted 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Although the Flashes leave the game with a loss, the results could have been much worse.

Early in the second half, junior guard Michael Porrini, who finished with 12 points, slashed to the hoop for an easy bucket, but was fouled and fell to the ground. Screams of pain quickly followed.

But after a short break on the, Porrini returned.

“He couldn’t make a fist,” Ford said.

Porrini will be taken for X-ray’s prior to the game at Western Michigan on Monday. It is unknown of the extent of the injury.
