Anchor Intro:

Just when you thought the construction on campus was done, there’s more underway, What changes can we expect to see? And how will the renovations inconvenience students? TV2 reporter Heather Wells has the story.

Script:

Construction has taken over Risman Plaza and just when there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, another new project is just starting. Tom Euclide, Associate Vice President for Facilities Planning and Operations wants to create special area for students to enjoy.

WHAT WE’RE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH IS, IS TO CREATE THAT UH, UM PLACE FOR THE STUDENTS TO MEET, EVENTS TO OCCUR, UH TO BE A PICTURE ON THE FRONT OF OUR CATALOGUES OR ON OUR WEBSITE THAT WILL HOPEFULLY ENTINCE FUTURE STUDENTS TO SAY HEY THIS IS A PLACE I WANT TO GO OR THIS LOOKS LIKE A REALLY NEAT PLACE

The new additions to campus will include a clock tower, as well as a grassy, commons area that will extend out to Summit Street with tree lined walkways. The new commons area would re-route the PARTA’s bus routes as well as take out nearly 50 parking spots creating an issue for students that utilize the lot for parking. Manager of Parking Services, Larry Emling, says he hopes that they’d be able to reconfigure the lot to make up for those spaces.

YEAH ONCE WE SEE THOSE FINAL PLANS, WE CAN HAVE SOME INPUT AND, AND LOOK AT WHAT WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO TO ENHANCE PARKING IN THOSE AREAS
