“Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen,” an exhibit showcasing Hepburn’s personal collection of her career wardrobe, opens to the public Saturday.

The display in Kent State’s fashion museum shows 50 representative garments and photos from various Hepburn performances.

“It’s really a wonder to see,” said Jim Williams, museum exhibit designer. “We have gowns and costumes Katharine wore in her movies and shows, but we also have her vests and pants. She was the one who made it OK for women to wear pants.”

The museum is open Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and the Hepburn exhibit will display until Sept. 4, 2011.
