Hump Day Cheers and Jeers

DKS Editors

CHEERS TO

• Three Kent State fashion professors who received faculty awards given at the International Textiles and Apparel Association in Seattle.

• The basketball team for a good start to the season, winning two out of three games in the Hispanic College Fund Classic.

• Centennial residence halls for reducing their energy consumption by 27 percent, winning Residence Services’ annual energy-saving competition.

JEERS TO

• Fraternities or other organizations that haze new members. Ohio University’s Delta Tau Delta fraternity was charged with hazing after several students were beaten and forced to consume excessive amounts of alcohol.

• Another lousy performance by the Browns Monday night. The loss to the Ravens makes their record 1-8.

• The people who allegedly attacked Kent State student Christopher Kernich off campus early Sunday morning. We hope Kernich, who is in critical condition, makes a full recovery.
