Kent Interhall Council and the Student Recreation and Wellness Center are teaming up to celebrate the rec center’s 10th anniversary and Little Sibs Weekend.

The rec center will be transformed into an extravagant circus for this year’s theme “Sibs du Soleil.” Students and their siblings can attend many circus activities and a circus show.

“Traditionally, Little Sibs Weekend is geared towards younger people,” said Ashleigh Newberry, vice president of programming and development for KIC. “This year we tried to expand it to an older crowd.”

The weekend events start at 5 p.m. Friday and last until noon Sunday, and anyone is welcome to participate.

A few of the activities include circus acts, free workout class demonstrations, airbrush tattoos, a caricature artist, wax hands, a life-size Wii, a monkey show, water volleyball, face painting, karaoke and a Guitar Hero tournament.

Newberry said several residence halls will also have events for Little Sibs Weekend.

A Sibs Farewell Dance will be held from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Saturday in Room 204 at the Student Center. Siblings are also welcome to join the Bye-Bye Breakfast from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in Eastway.

Siblings can check in or register late from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in the Allyn/Clark and Manchester/Fletcher lounges. Sibs can also check in from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kent Interhall Council office in the Tri-Towers Rotunda.
