A new restaurant recently opened up for business, despite the ailing economy.

Belleria Pizza and Italian Restaurant found a new home on the main strip of route 59.

The restaurant hopes to bring jobs and business to Kent and offer a quality meal at the same time.

The building has seen its fair share of struggles but owner, Gina Gavozzi, hopes they can change that.

“We are not here to profit off the business. We are here to keep people in business and bring something of atmosphere of community to the whole area,” Gavozzi said.

The owners hope to liven the location and bring business back home.

They have already filled 58 positions and look to expand as the business takes off.

Belleria is bringing the tastes of Italy to Kent.

They look to establish a family atmosphere with a menu that is compatible for everyone.

Gavozzi said they have not had an official grand opening yet, but she has already seen the return of patrons.

One customer came to test the food in order to bring her family back for more.

“We came to try it out because we’ve seen it and we want to check it out to bring the family back,” customer Karen Mackey said.

The Gavozzis hope to keep the customers happy and coming back for more.
