Senior guard Jordan Mincy was raised to set his goals high and shoot for the stars.

Mincy has played in the most games of any player in history in the Mid-American Conference.

His mother, Sharon Mincy, said he had a great role model in his father, Willie A. Mincy. Mincy’s parents, his belief in God, and overall demeanor as a man, has contributed to his success.

He thought about the fundamental skills his parents instilled in him as he competed in his last home game.

Mincy woke up early, went to the gym and practiced shooting to make sure he won his last home game as a Golden Flash. Hard work, perseverance and dedication, are characteristics that motivated Mincy to win.

Mincy’s teammate, Mike McKee, said Mincy plays with great intensity.

Kent State men’s assistant basketball coach, Armon Gates, said Mincy brings a lot of good qualities to the team.

McKee also believes that Mincy is a great leader.

To continue his success on and off the court, Mincy said he will enroll in graduate school and get an assistantship on a basketball coaching staff.
