Betsy V. Boze announced Friday that she will resign from her position as dean of the Kent State Stark campus, effective immediately.

Boze is stepping down for personal reasons, according to a press release from the Stark campus.

“I love Kent State Stark and have given it my heart and soul for the past four years,” said Boze in an e-mail to Stark campus faculty. “I appreciate the support and enthusiasm I have received from the students, faculty, staff and the Canton community.”

Boze served as Kent State Stark campus dean since July 2005. The Stark campus is the university’s largest regional campus, with a spring semester enrollment of nearly 4,000 students.

Ruth Capasso, associate dean for academic affairs at Kent State Stark campus, will oversee operations as the university begins the process of determining an interim dean and searching for a permanent replacement.

Capasso taught French language and culture courses at both the Kent and Stark campuses before joining the Stark campus administration in 2004.
