Obama’s senior foreign policy adviser to speak today in Kiva

Sen. Barack Obama’s senior foreign policy adviser, Dan Shapiro, will hold a question and answer-style session at 12:30 p.m. today in Room 206 of the Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.

“With this being a Q-and-A session,” College Democrats President Jared M. Matthews said, “I feel as if this opportunity would be a great way for students to get an understanding of important matters relating to foreign policy.”

Shapiro has been advising the Obama campaign on Middle East policy and Jewish affairs since August 2007. Previously, Shapiro worked for the National Security Council, as deputy chief of staff for Sen. Bill Nelson and as a staff adviser to Sen. Dianne Feinstein and former Rep. Lee Hamilton.

College Democrats and the Ohio Campaign for Change are sponsoring today’s discussion.
