Devo will perform a benefit concert for the Summit County Democratic Party at the Akron Civic Theatre Oct. 24.

Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. today at the theater’s box office and at Ticketmaster locations.

Devo frontman Mark Mothersbaugh received an honorary degree last spring from Kent State. Mothersbaugh and the band’s other co-founder, Gerald Casale, met at Kent State and were both students at the time of the May 4 shootings.

Devo is best known for its 1980 hit single “Whip It.”

Prices for reserved seats are $50, $35 and $25. VIP tickets are available for $150, which include a post-show reception with the band.
