Students rushed the stage with dollar bills in hands, mouths and pants as four “drag queens” performed in Cartwright Hall last night as part of Sextoberfest.

Danyel Vasquez, Shari Turner, Brionna Brooks and Samantha Styles danced on the stage and in the crowd throughout the show.

In between acts, Vasquez, “the hostess with the mostess,” entertained the audience by involving members of the crowd. Vasquez asked the crowd questions about their sexuality and even brought some crowd members up to the stage.

“Were you born straight, or when did you decide to be that way,” he said to the crowd after he asked all of the straight people to raise their hands.

In front of the entrance to the auditorium, there were three signs. One had the definition and history of the word “faggot” on it, the second told students to stop saying the word and the third said to visit thinkb4youspeak.com. The Web site’s goal is “to raise awareness about the prevalence and consequences of anti-LGBT bias and behavior in America’s schools.”
