82-year-old professor to give poetry reading tonight

Eighty-two-year-old Edwin Gould, university professor, is reading at the Wick Poetry Corner in the library tonight from 4 to 5 p.m.

During the past 57 years, Gould taught chemistry at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, San Francisco University and Kent State, where he has been for 41 years.

His passion for writing led him to publish seven chapbooks of poetry with topics ranging from romance, music, athletics and juvenile wrong-doings. In 2004, he won the Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award at Kent State. His 210 research articles and two graduate-level textbooks on the topic of inorganic reaction mechanisms have been translated into German, Spanish,

Italian and Japanese.
