Designers from Kent, Akron and Columbus will share their designs in a fashion show called “Fashion is Life.” It has been put together by the Kent State student organization Harambee and will be held in the Student Center Ballroom tomorrow.

“We’re trying to make it a classy event,” senior biology major Brittany Brown said.

And with class, comes VIP.

The regular ticket price is $10, but for $20 guests can be deemed VIP and get the extra treatment that comes with the title. Tickets can be purchased from Harambee members from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hub, then from 7 to 10 p.m. in Student Center Room 311.

VIPs will have their names will be printed on their seats, which are closer to the runway, and will be escorted after being greeted at the VIP entrance. From when the doors open at 7 p.m. until the show begins at 8 p.m., these guests can treat themselves to snacks, along with the opportunity to take pictures of themselves in a photo booth.

For senior communications major Adrian LaDon Neal, holding this show is about the message of the organization.

Harambee is focused on the art of self-expression, said Neal, who is the president of the group.

“It’s to try to give people those avenues to express themselves,” he said.

Fashion is Life will showcase eight designers and several models.
