Tax season has officially begun.

“IRS rules require employers to put W-2s in the mail by January 31,” said Chris Kerns, Ohio spokesman for the Internal Revenue Service.

Kent State is no exception, although there is a new way to receive tax forms.

Students can still register to receive an electronic version through FlashLine, Bursar Leslie Carter said.

The tax forms can be accessed through FlashFAST under the Student Tools tab on FlashLine. Information is instantly available to students.

Carter said an e-mail would be sent reminding students about the online version.

For students receiving tax forms by mail, Carter stressed that it is “important students keep their addresses current so they can receive university mail in a timely order.”
