The Public Safety Advisory Committee will hold its fall meeting at 1:30 p.m. in Room 318 of the Student Center.

John Peach, Kent State Police Chief and public safety director for the committee, said the purpose of this meeting will be to discuss changes and trends that have taken place in the departments of transportation, parking, police and fire safety since the last committee meeting.

“We want to be very transparent about what takes place in public safety,” Peach said. “We’ve found that this is a good way to do it.”

At the meeting, the committee will discuss the Campus Emergency Preparedness Action Plan; recent developments within the departments of transportation, parking services and fire safety; the Kent State and Kent City Police off-campus misconduct initiative and the working relationships between the Kent State, Kent and Brimfield police departments.

The committee holds two meetings each year – one in the spring and one in the fall – as long as no incidents occur that would call for a special meeting, Peach said. The committee was started to enhance communication between the Kent State community and the public safety departments on campus.
