C++ Programmer to speak in Kiva

Bjarne Stroustrup, designer of the C++ computer programming language, will give a presentation on C++0x from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. tonight in the Kiva.
Topics to be discussed by Stroustrup include the guidelines and principles applied in the design of C++0x and proposals being considered by the program’s committee. He will also include time for questions regarding C++0x.
Stroustrup is the author of The C++ Programming Language and The Design and Evolution of C++ and is also a member of The National Academy of Engineering. He is currently the College of Engineering chair professor in Computer Science at Texas A&M University and is involved in the ANSI/ISO standardization of C++.
Some of Stroustrup’s research topics include design, programming techniques, software development tools and programming languages.
There will be a reception from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. in Room 204 above the Kiva.
