The United Way of Portage County’s 4th annual 5K and 10K race and one-mile fun walk is Saturday.

Sponsored by Davey Tree Expert Company, the fundraiser collects money and allocates funds to the 12 agencies it sponsors, such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army and Townhall II.

Participants may designate their money to the non-profit organization of their choice.

Administrative assistant Mary Atkinson said the United Way is hoping for a turn-out of 400 people.

The events take place at the Masonic Temple on West Main Street with the 5k race beginning at 7:30 a.m., the 10k race at 8:30 a.m. and the fun walk at 8:30 a.m.

Day-of-the-race registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Fees range from $12 to $27, depending on the event.
