Wilson wins Ward 3
May 7, 2007
Wayne Wilson, Kent’s longest serving councilman, won Ward 3 in an uncontested victory in the May 8 primary election.
“I’m happy,” Wilson said. “I look forward to serving the people of Kent for another four years.”
Wilson has been a councilman for 15 years. He said a big factor in getting re-elected is his availability. He said he has no qualms about taking phone calls at 3 a.m., even if the phone calls come from people in other wards.
He said he wasn’t nervous about the primary election.
“No, there wasn’t any nerves,” he said. “But that’s because I ran uncontested.”
