Magic in the air for Lil’ Sibs

It is that time of year again – little siblings are invading Kent State for the annual Lil Sibs weekend.

Hosted by Kent Interhall Council and many other student organizations – including numerous residence hall councils, All Campus Programming Board and dining services – Lil Sibs begins at 5 p.m. tonight and will last until late Saturday evening.

The theme for this year is magic, with events including laser tag, a wizard carnival, a magic show and a showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The weekend will end with a glow-in-the-dark dance in the Student Center.

“They basically come and have a good time at Kent State and see what Kent State is all about,” said Cassie McClelland, vice president of programming and development for KIC. “They get a little feel of what campus is like and just participate in a whole bunch of events and have a fun-filled weekend.”

So far, 1,300 people have signed-up to participate this year. The event is open to any Kent State student, including commuters and off-campus students, but registration is mandatory in order to participate. Late registration is still available for students who wish to participate but have yet to sign-up.
