Flu shots offered tomorrow for $20

In preparation for flu season, vaccinations will be offered to Kent State students, staff, faculty and dependents tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lower level of the DeWeese Health Center.

Shelly Verba, assistant nursing manager at DeWeese, said online registration is available at www.kent.edu/hr/register until the end of today.

“People should try to pre-register,” Verba said, “but we will welcome walk-ins as supplies last.”

This is an important time to get immunized, especially if you are living in the residence halls, Verba said.

Employees who are enrolled in university-sponsored health plans with Medical Mutual or Anthem can present their insurance identification cards and receive the flu shots for free.

The vaccinations cost $20, and those who are not covered by university-sponsored plans can pay by cash, check, FlashCash or credit card. Checks should be made payable to Kent State University.

The flu-shot clinic is sponsored by University Health Services and the OneWellU program. For more information, contact the Benefits Office at 330-672-3107.
