Kent State alumnus to play tonight at Kent Presbyterian
November 9, 2006
It’s a concert at a church, but he’s not a religious artist.
Folk singer Abe Quigley will be playing tonight at the Kent Presbyterian Church.
“He is very mainstream,” the Rev. Aaron Meadows said. “He sounds like a mix between John Mayer and Dave Matthews.”
Meadows said Quigley, a 1998 Kent State graduate, played at the church last year and was a big hit with students.
“Abe Quigley is a fantastic acoustic guitar player with great lyrics,” Meadows said.
The Kent Presbyterian Church is offering free food and coffee at the show at 8 p.m. in Grazier Hall. Kent Presbyterian is located at 1456 E. Summit St.
Meadows said Quigley just started an East Coast tour and the concert may be a last chance to see him perform in Kent.
“It’s a good opportunity to see him before he gets too big for a venue like ours,” Meadows said.
