Student released on bond

After spending four days in jail, a Delta Upsilon member arrested for his involvement in a Halloween weekend incident that left a man in critical condition is out on bond.

Nicholas D. Zajac, 20, of 202 S. Lincoln St., the Delta Upsilon house, was arrested Nov. 17. He was arraigned and charged with felonious assault Tuesday.

His bond was set at $50,000 with a 10 percent surety. Zajac’s mother, Laura Zajac, paid the bond, and Zajac was released. According to the conditions of the bond, Zajac isn’t to leave the state or have contact with the incident’s victim, Dana Lim.

Lim, 25, of Parma, was run over by a tow truck Oct. 29 and has since been in serious condition at Akron City Hospital.

Kent State spokesman Ron Kirksey said the incident is under review by the university.
