Red Cross accepting Thanksgiving food donations today

The Center of Hope and Kent Social Services needs students’ help this holiday season.

Serving approximately 92,000 hot meals in 2005 to the hungry, these organizations have a year-round job that requires extra help from the community around Thanksgiving and Christmas times.

Turkeys are needed most right now, but canned goods are always helpful, said Debby Missimi, director of food services for family and community.

Donations can be dropped off until 5 p.m. at one of the Red Cross boxes located in residence halls. Turkeys can be brought to Kent Social Services at 1066 S. Water St. or to the Center of Hope at 1034 W. Main St.
