Fraternity collecting donations, non-perishibles for charity

One dollar is equal to 7 pounds of food.

Lambda Chi Alpha is collecting non-perishable goods or cash donations for the Kent Social Services.

“Lambda Chi’s goal is to raise $1,000, which is 7,000 pounds of food,” John Pana, fraternity member, said.

The fraternity has broken into teams to collect the most money for Kent Social Services. Students who want to donate money can go to the second floor of the Student Center from noon to 4 p.m. from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.

The fraternity is also hosting its fourth annual Pumpkin Bash from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 on Front Campus. The event is open to any students who want to participate. Students can create teams of at least four participants, but there isn’t a maximum number of members.

The Pumpkin Bash is a competition among teams that participate in events such as a pumpkin toss, bobbing for gourds, dizzy bat race, pumpkin pass and Slip N’ Slide. The top three teams with the most points and donations will win a trophy.
