KIC gets Wild and Crazy for Lil’ Sibs

Don’t be surprised to see a younger brother or sister riding a mechanical bull this weekend.

Kent Interhall Council will sponsor Lil’ Sibs Weekend Friday through Sunday. This year’s theme is Wild and Crazy Sibs.

Traci Sanders, vice president of programming and development for KIC, said there will be plenty of activities to fit the theme this year, including a talent show, cartwheel contest, sand art and relay races.

A carnival will kick off the weekend Friday evening in the Eastway Lower Lounge. Students can register their siblings in the Eastway Upper Lounge on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Those participating will need to pick up their wristbands to participate in the weekend activities. T-shirts will also be available to buy.

Late registration will be available on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the KIC office located in Tri-Towers.

There are many activities planned for Saturday, including an inflatable obstacle course, a dance and movie night.

KIC will also be targeting the older siblings this year with different activities.

“We want the older kids to be here,” Sanders said. “We will be having late-night activities to cater more to their needs.”

Ashley Morgan, junior fashion merchandising major, said she is excited to have her

younger sister come to visit for Lil’ Sibs weekend.

“My little sister is in high school, so we will probably go to the activities for the older kids,” Morgan said. “We are looking forward to the live music and beach volleyball.”

Kids of all ages are welcomed to come to Lil’ Sibs Weekend. There are 1,365 siblings registered already.
